Optional Thursday ClassLinda Lawless:Class: “French Sewing Box-Etui” Teacher: Linda Lawless Thursday: 1 day class Thursday, September 28, 2006 Kit fee: $20.00 Sewing machine required: No Level recommended for this class: All Sorry, class is now all filled Bio: I am the most fortunate of women. Plunked down in Sacramento, CA because of a job change, I needed a artist outlet and discovered the world of cloth dolls. Two wonderful doll makers, Marge Gorman and Marsha Elam were running Tayos Doll Works and took me into their magical world and made it mine. I plunged into the world of glorious fabrics, wild characters dolls and beautiful spirit dolls. I never looked back! Six years later I may have physically moved back to Canada (job again!) but my creative spirit is firmly linked to this inspiring club of women at Tayos. Various doll artists such as Barbara Willis, Christine Shively, Joann Pinto and Pamela Hastings were invited to teach at our club.
I soaked up their creativity and inspiration like a sponge. Imagine, at the age of 50, I could rediscover the joy of a play day with a group of women so wonderfully talented. What Joy! If I can make you take a second look and a smile lingers around your mouth when you walk away, then I have succeeded as a doll artist.
